A video showing a man performing a life-threatening stunt on the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu, popularly known as the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge in Assam, has gone viral on social media.
The man, seen in the video, hangs from the edge of the bridge’s railing and performs pull-ups as bystanders record the risky act on their phones.
According to eyewitnesses and users online, the stunt was not an isolated incident. Several members of a youth group engaged in risky behaviour on the bridge while filming themselves. The video has since triggered outrage from residents and social groups, who have condemned the act and urged authorities to take swift action.
Residents fear such stunts could have tragic consequences and argue that public structures like bridges should not be used for such reckless displays. They are now calling on the administration to identify those involved and implement strict penalties to deter future incidents.
“This kind of behaviour not only puts lives at risk but also threatens the integrity and safety of critical infrastructure,” a man said.
As of now, there has been no official response from law enforcement or local government regarding the video or any action being taken.
