For most people, ATM means 'Any Time Money', a machine that is used only for withdrawing cash. But don't be fooled by its name because its functions are much more than its name. Most people don't know that you can do many such bank-related tasks through this ATM. For which you have to go to the bank branch and stand in line. Here are 10 such tasks that your ATM can do in a jiffy.

Security first: Change your PIN.

You do not need to go to the bank to change the PIN of your debit card. You can do this work in minutes by going to your bank's ATM at any time. From a security point of view, it is a good habit to keep changing your PIN every few months.

Accounting immediately: Get a mini statement

If you want to see the last 8-10 transactions of your account, then you do not need to update the passbook. Just go to the ATM, select the 'Mini Statement' option, and you will instantly receive a receipt detailing all your recent transactions.

Send money instantly: Card-to-card transfer.

You can transfer money instantly from your bank's ATM to another account holder of the same bank using their 16-digit debit card number. This facility is very useful, especially when you do not know the account number of the beneficiary. Most banks have a daily limit of up to ₹40,000.

Pay the insurance premium.

You might be surprised to know, but you can also pay the premium of your life insurance policies (like LIC) through an ATM. All you have to do is enter your policy number, and the premium amount will be deducted from your bank account.

Pay the VISA credit card bill.

You can pay the bill for any VISA credit card by going to the ATM. To pay the credit card bill, you just need to have your debit card with you and remember its PIN.

Withdraw cash without a card.
This is a very useful facility. If you have forgotten your debit card at home, you can still withdraw cash. For this, you first have to request 'cardless cash withdrawal' from your bank's mobile app. You get an OTP, which you can enter in the ATM and withdraw cash.

Pay household bills without any hassle.

You do not need to stand in long queues to pay electricity, water, gas, or DTH bills. Many major banks provide the facility of paying these bills at their ATMs. Just enter your consumer number or connection ID and pay the bill easily.

Request for a new cheque book
If your cheque book has expired, there is no need to fill out a form for a new book and submit it to the bank. You can request a new cheque book directly from the ATM. The cheque book will be sent to your registered address.

You can register for mobile banking.

Nowadays, most banks provide internet banking and mobile banking facilities to their customers as soon as they open an account. But, if your mobile banking is not active and you want to activate it, then this work can also be done with the help of an ATM.

Money transfer from one account to another

You can also send money from your account to another account through ATM. A maximum of 16 accounts can be linked to one ATM card. After this, you just have to reach the ATM with your card and you can transfer money with complete security without any worry.
