
Superstar Rajinikanth has admirers all around the country and the world. Big stars from the film industry have shared their appreciation for watching the ' Coolie ' star on the big screens. Throwback to a moment in 2016 when Bollywood superstar Salman Khan showed up uninvited at the first-look launch of ' 2.0 ', just to meet the one and only Rajinikanth.
As per a report by Pinkvilla, the ' Tiger 3 ' actor, who holds a huge admiration for the Thalaiva, showed up at the official unveiling event of director Shankar's sci-fi sequel '2.0', starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar .
Salman came just to see him
Speaking at the event, the Sultan actor said, "I was not invited; I just came to see him," while pointing to Rajinikanth on stage. The audience broke into applause. "I believe he is the most remarkable man known. I hold a lot of respect for him," he added.
Praise for Akshay Kumar
Salman also shared his appreciation with his old friend and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' co-star Akshay Kumar, who played the antagonist in '2.0'. He affectionately referred to him as "Akki" and lauded his consistency and growth as an actor.

Rajinikanth also greeted Salman with a warm, heartfelt hug. Rajinikanth was touched by the gesture and publicly thanked Salman Khan for showing up. "If Salman says yes, I'll work with him in a film even tomorrow," the 'Enthiran' actor said.
On the professional front, Salman Khan was last seen in the 2025 Eid release 'Sikandar' directed by AR Murugadoss , co-starring Rashmika Mandanna. However, despite its initial hype, the movie had an underwhelming box office run. He will be next seen in the war action drama film, 'Battle of Galwan'.
On the other hand, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film, 'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie will be released on August 14.
