Easy recipe to make Ragi Cheela
  • 1 cup ragi flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum (optional)
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped (you can add more or less as per your taste)
  • 1/2 inch piece ginger, grated
  • Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (to make the batter)
  • Oil or Ghee (for frying the chil
How to make Ragi Cheela
  • First of all, take ragi flour in a large bowl. Add finely chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, ginger and green coriander to it.
  • Now add salt and little water to it and make a thick batter. The batter should be such that it can be easily spread on the pan. Keep it covered for 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat a non-stick pan and apply a little oil or ghee on it. Pour a spoonful of the batter on the pan and spread it in a round shape.
  • Cook the cheela on both sides till it turns golden brown. You can also cook it on low flame so that it gets cooked inside.
  • Serve hot Ragi Cheela with chutney, curd or any vegetable of your choice.
