Znews reported that according to Chosunin an interview on the TV show “Salon Drip 2,” Moon opened up about her experience with Allday Project and revealed how her family initially lacked support for her dream.

“When I practiced singing or dancing, my parents would often complain about the noise,” she recalled. “They said that if I had worked as hard at something else, I could have built a house by now.”

She explained that her parents thought her aspiration to become a singer was just a fleeting hobby, a sentiment that still bothers her to this day.

Reflecting on her early efforts to improve her skills, Moon shared that she used to mimic songs by K-pop groups 2NE1 and Big Bang.

“I would always perform CL’s parts in 2NE1’s songs,” she said. “I even gave my younger sister chocolates and asked her to learn the parts sung by the other members.”

Moon also described her time as a trainee at The Black Label while studying in the U.S. At the time, she could only take online classes, record her practice, and send it to the company for feedback. Whenever she visited South Korea, she made sure to practice at the company, maintaining this routine for four years.

Regarding the public’s reaction after her debut, Moon said: “I take in the positive feedback that helps me improve, while ignoring baseless criticisms.”

“If you don’t listen to feedback, you won’t know where you need to improve. That’s why I always pay attention to others’ opinions.”

At 23, Moon is also the great-granddaughter of Samsung founder Lee Byung Chul, as her grandmother Lee Myung Hee is his youngest daughter. In 2020, Forbes estimated Lee Myung Hee’s net worth at US$840 million, ranking her 42nd on South Korea’s list of the 50 richest individuals.

Moon’s mother Chung Yoo Kyung currently serves as president of Shinsegae Group. Her family’s Shinsegae Group is one of South Korea’s top three department store chains, alongside Lotte and Hyundai Department Store.
