Popular Pakistani actor Imran Ashraf is all set to make his debut in the Indo-Canadian Punjabi film ‘Elea Mother’s Sahna Auna’ Aunda’and the film’s first song ‘All Good’ has just been released. It is already being hailed as the “party anthem of the year.”

Imran Ashraf, known for his outstanding performances in Pakistani dramas, shared the song on his Instagram yesterday. The lead actor of the film, Ranjit Bawa, has sung the track, and its video features a vibrant party setting.

While the film’s trailer doesn’t reveal much about the storyline, it hints at a plot revolving around young international students and the challenges they face while studying abroad.

The movie was originally scheduled for a May release but was postponed for undisclosed reasons. However, it’s believed that the delay was due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan at the time.

‘Elea Mother’s Sahna Auna’ Aunda’ will now be released worldwide, including in Pakistan, on August 22.

The teaser for the film was released last month, showing Imran Ashraf in a lead role. The movie is directed by Rupen bal and also stars Indian Punjabi singer-actor Jassie Gill in a key role.

The majority of the cast consists of Canadian-born Indian actors, although several Pakistani Punjabi actors will also feature.

The supporting cast includes Ranjit brings, Mandeep Dhillon (Mande Takhar), Sapna Pabbi, Nimrat khaaira, Nasir is a nurseand Noopur bangaamong others.

News of this film’s release comes in the wake of controversy surrounding the Indian Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’which faced backlash in India for casting Pakistani actress Chania Aamir. Produced by Indian singer-actor Diljit dosanjh, Sardaar ji 3 is yet to release in India due to political sensitivities. However, it was released on June 27 in Pakistan and globally, where it became one of the highest-grossing Punjabi films outside India, according to director Amar hundal.

This is not the only Indian film facing obstacles due to the inclusion of Pakistani talent. Actor Fawad Khan’s film ‘Abir Gulal’ was indefinitely postponed following heightened tensions after the Pahalgam attack in April, which India blamed on Pakistan — a claim Pakistan has repeatedly denied.

Since the cast and crew of ‘Elea Mother’s Sahna Auna’ Aunda’ are primarily Indo-Canadians, there has been no immediate backlash from Indian hardliners regarding the inclusion of Pakistani actors. It’s likely that the film will be released outside India — including in Pakistan — while avoiding a domestic Indian release for now.
