Rajnath Singh on Trump Tariff: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday launched a veiled attack on US President Donald Trump, saying that some global powers are jealous of India's rapid economic progress.

Amid the ongoing controversy over US President Donald Trump's imposition of 50 per cent duty on imports from India, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday described India's economy as the world's most "strong and dynamic" economy and said some countries that have the attitude of "we are the boss of all" are not liking this.
In a veiled attack on Trump, Rajnath Singh said some "bosses" are jealous of India's fast growth rate and are trying to disrupt the country's economy. "Some people are not happy with India's rapid progress. They don't like it. If we are the boss of all, then how is India growing so fast?" he said.
US imposes 50 percent tariff on India
The US recently imposed a 25% duty and an additional 25% penalty on Indian goods because India continues to buy oil from Russia. The move came after Washington alleged that India was funding Russia's war efforts. Along with this, the US President described India's economy as "dead" and threatened to increase the tariffs further.
Attempts to stop India's economy
Rajnath Singh said, "Some countries want that the products made in India, things made by Indian hands, become expensive compared to other countries, so that the world stops buying them when the prices increase." He expressed confidence that now no power in the world can stop India from becoming a major global power.
Defence exports are strong.
The Defence Minister said that the defence sector is an example of India's strength and said, "We are exporting defence products worth more than Rs 24,000 crore. This is the new defence sector of the new India and exports are constantly increasing." He clarified that the tariff dispute has not affected this sector.
