Mogra (Jasmine) is a beloved flowering plant known for its beautiful white blossoms and enchanting fragrance. Whether you have a spacious garden or a small balcony, growing mogra in pots is easy and rewarding. Here’s how to plant and care for mogra to enjoy a garden full of blooms.
Best Time to Plant
- Ideal months: February to July
- This period offers warmth and humidity, helping roots grow faster and ensuring healthy flowering.
- Pot size: Use a 10–12 inch deep clay or plastic pot.
- Soil mix: Combine garden soil, cow dung manure, and sand in a 2:1:1 ratio.
- This mix ensures good drainage and provides essential nutrients.
- Fill the pot with prepared soil.
- Make a small hole in the center.
- Place the nursery-bought mogra plant in the hole.
- Gently press soil around the roots and water lightly.
- Place the pot where it gets 4–5 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- In summer: water daily.
- In winter: water every 2–3 days.
- Always water at the base, not on the leaves.
Care Tips
- Add organic fertilizer or cow dung manure every 20–25 days.
- Prune dry leaves and wilted flowers regularly.
