A well-known dermatologist from Bhopal was cheated by Dr. 10 lakhs in the name of getting an entry in the reality show Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan. The 36-year-old doctor, who runs a poison anti-aging skin clinic, lodged an FIR at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai on August 4, 2025 after filing a complaint at the Chunabhatti police station in Bhopal in July 2023.

The case reported by India Today and NDTV has witnessed extensive discussion on X about the growing cyber fraud.

In October 2022, Karan Singh alias Prince contacted Gupta, describing himself as an event management director in Andheri West, Mumbai and claimed his relations with the makers of Bigg Boss. Singh initially demanded ₹ 1 crore, later reduced it to ₹ 60 lakh and allegedly set a meeting with Harish Shah, an officer of Endemol Company. Relying on these assurances, Gupta transferred ₹ 10 lakh. When his name was missing from the competitive list of Bigg Boss season 16, Singh promised mid-season wild card entry. After the end of season 17 Gupta’s participation, Singh deferred the requests of the refund, eventually refused to contact.

Disappointed, Gupta approached the police, until the FIR was lodged under Section 420 of the IPC for fraud, the delay was faced. Investigation is on, Singh is still absconding. Gupta’s case highlights the risks of scams that take advantage of aspirations inspired by fame, and urge the public to take precautions.

Bigg Boss 19, whose premiere is scheduled to attract the audience on August 24, 2025 on Colors TV and Jio Hotstar. This tough exam of Gupta acts as a warning: confirm the claims before giving money, as fraudsters take advantage of the attraction of reality TV stardom.
