
Kushagra Bajaj is the Chairman of the Bajaj Group his 22-year-old daughter joined the $2.5 billion family business earlier this month. She has been appointed as General Manager (Strategy). Her entry into the group shows a positive trend of women from prominent business families taking on leadership roles. Who Is Anandamayi Bajaj? Anandamayi daughter of Kushagra Bajaj has joined the Bajaj Group as General Manager (Strategy). She will be working in the group’s strategy department. Anandamayi’s mother Vasavadatta Bajaj is the sister of Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla. In June Anandamayi graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics and Mathematics. In her new role she will work closely with the leadership teams of the group’s various businesses and will later join the boards of its companies. Anandamayi is passionate about animal care and women’s empowerment. She has two brothers – Yugadikrit (20) and Vishwaroop (17). Yugadikrit is currently pursuing a degree and will join the group in two years while Vishwaroop a student at HR College is a polo champion. What Are Bajaj Group’s Operations? The Bajaj Group has interests in sugar ethanol power and personal care businesses employing over 12000 people. It was separated from the original Bajaj Group in 2008. The original Bajaj Group founded in the 1930s by Jamnalal Bajaj is run by Kushagra’s cousins including Rajiv Bajaj (MD of Bajaj Auto) and Sanjiv Bajaj (CMD of Bajaj Finserv). Rajiv’s son Rishabh works as Divisional Manager (Product Strategy) at Bajaj Auto while Sanjiv’s daughter Sanjali after working at Bajaj Finserv is currently pursuing an MBA from Harvard.
