MANDI:
The Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation has demonstrated its dedication to humanitarian efforts by assisting families impacted by the recent natural disaster in Mandi district.
Under the guidance of Vikramaditya Singh, the foundation's president and Himachal Pradesh Public Works Minister, the organization has committed to providing targeted support for relief and rehabilitation in the most affected regions.
On Monday, senior member Yadopati Thakur, along with other representatives from Mandi, presented a cheque of ₹11 lakh to the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi. This donation is intended to supply urgent relief materials, support rehabilitation initiatives, and meet the essential needs of displaced families.
“The Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation has consistently supported the people of Himachal Pradesh during both joyous and challenging times,” stated the members in a collective announcement. “After assessing the disaster-affected areas, our president Vikramaditya Singh personally interacted with the families in need and committed to providing assistance. It is our responsibility to come together and help restore normalcy in their lives. This contribution, while modest, is a heartfelt effort towards that goal.”
Founded in honor of the late former Chief Minister Raja Virbhadra Singh, the foundation continues to uphold his legacy by emphasizing public service, humanitarian principles, and social welfare. Members confirmed that the organization will actively participate in disaster response and community development projects throughout the state.
Attendees at the cheque handover included Ajay Modgil, Azad Thakur, Sachin Verma, Anil Sharma, Tarun Thakur, Kishori Thakur, Gopal Krishan, and Bodhraj, along with senior local officials.
