Gianluigi Donnarumma is now expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain after it was reported the Italian was left out of Parisians’ squad to face Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Supercup. Fabrizio Romano reports that the shot-stopper’s camp feels it is an ‘unfair’ situation which has now ‘completely broken’ the relationship between the club and the player.
Romano reports also that the Premier League will be the most likely destination for Donnarumma, either this summer or on the expiration of his contract in June 2026. There have been previous reports from Marc Mechouna that Manchester United and Chelsea have enquired for the Italian international, when PSG went all-in on Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (23) who signed a five-year deal with the capital club yesterday.
Whilst the Italian had not previously expressed his desire to leave the club, no breakthrough was made in contract extension discussions with the former AC Milan shot-stopper, which led to an impasse and the subsequent signing of Chevalier – who is expected to be the club’s number one goalkeeper next season.
