Cooock Tips: Try this recipe to make tasty and spicy sambar, people will become your fans after eating

Sambhar may be a South Indian dish, but the North is also liked by the people. Sambar which looks great with rice, idli, dosa and vada. Its taste is quite wonderful and it is also healthy. If you also want to make sambar at home, then let us know the easy recipe to make it.

  • 1 cup arhar dal
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup gourd (ghee), chopped
  • 1/2 cup beans, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 pinch asafetida
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 piece ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons sambar powder
  • Salt taste
  • 2 teaspoon oil
  • Green coriander, chopped (for garnishing)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 2 dry red chili

Way to make

First of all, wash the pigeonpea thoroughly and put it in the pressure cooker and add turmeric powder, salt, 1 cup of water and chopped vegetables (gourd, carrots, beans).

  • Cook the lentils till 4-5 whistles in the pressure cooker.
  • Now heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin and asafoetida.
  • When the spices start crackling, add onion, ginger and green chillies and fry.
  • After this, add tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft.
  • Now add coriander powder, red chili powder and sambar powder and mix well.
  • Pour the lentils and vegetables cooked with a pressure cooker into this spice mixture and thick or dilute it according to the need.
  • Boil it for 10-12 minutes.
  • Now heat ghee in a small pan and fry mustard seeds, cumin, curry leaves and dry red chili.
  • Put this tempering in the prepared sambar and let it boil lightly.
  • After this, after turning off the gas, add green coriander and decorate it and serve with idli or dosa.
