
Ongoing Encounter in Bijapur District
On Tuesday, two members of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) sustained minor injuries during an ongoing encounter with Maoists in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh's Bastar division. According to a police statement, a DRG team initiated an anti-Naxal operation in the Gangloor area on August 11. Early Tuesday morning, Maoists opened fire on security forces, leading to intermittent gunfire that continued for several hours.

Police officials reported that the clash between security personnel and Maoists is still ongoing in the Gangloor police station area, resulting in injuries to two DRG members. The DRG team was dispatched to the region for the anti-Naxal operation on Monday, and since their arrival on Tuesday, the skirmishes have persisted intermittently.
Injuries and Medical Assistance
Officials confirmed that the two injured DRG members have sustained minor injuries but are in stable condition and out of danger. They are being transported to Raipur for further medical treatment after receiving initial care.

Authorities indicated that there is a likelihood of several Maoists being injured during the ongoing operation.
