# Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain

One of India’s 12 revered Jyotirlingas, Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain holds immense significance for Shaivites. It is the only Jyotirlinga facing south and is believed to be Swayambhu (self-manifested).

The temple is especially famous for its early morning Bhasma Aarti—a unique ritual where sacred ash is offered to Lord Shiva. Devotees begin queuing from as early as 2 AM to witness this powerful spiritual ceremony.

# Omkareshwar Temple, Khandwa

Another sacred Jyotirlinga, Omkareshwar Temple is located on an island shaped like the holy “Om” symbol in the Narmada River. Its serene setting blends spirituality with natural beauty, drawing pilgrims and travellers alike.
