Pune. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha in Maharashtra’s Pune court, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi (Rahul Gandhi) said on Wednesday that he was in danger of his life. He has expressed this threat to the Savarkar defamation case. He said that Nathuram Godse, who complained of defamation against me, is a descendant. Rahul Gandhi has appealed to MP/MLA Special Court (MP/MLA Special Court) to provide pre -protection for his safety and fair hearing of the case. This is the constitutional responsibility of the state. The court will next hear the case on 10 September.

Rahul Gandhi said that Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination was a well-planned conspiracy and in view of such family history, he is in danger of harming or being implicated wrongly. He also mentioned his recent political statements, such as presenting the slogan of “Vote Chor Kursi Chhut” in Parliament on August 11, which has increased the resentment of political opponents. Rahul also said that a true Hindu is never violent, does not spread hatred. The BJP spreads hatred and violence. After this statement, BJP leaders accused him of insulting the Hindu community.

In March 2023, Rahul Gandhi claimed in a speech in London that VD Savarkar wrote in a book that he and his five to six friends had once beat up a Muslim person, and he was happy with it. Citing this speech, Satyaki Savarkar has filed a defamation case against Gandhi.

In the same case, on July 3, the Pune MP-MLA Court (MP/MLA court) dismissed the petition of Savarkar’s grandson Satyaki Savarkar, in which he demanded Rahul Gandhi to show the book, in which he allegedly made derogatory remarks against Savarkar. Justice Amol Shinde said that the Congress leader cannot be forced to present the book.

In fact, Rahul Gandhi commented on Savarkar at a rally during the Bharat Jigo Yatra on November 17, 2022 in Akola district of Maharashtra. He had shown a letter in front of the media that this letter was written by Savarkar to the British. In this, he had spoken of being the servant of the British. Also apologized for fear. Gandhi-Nehru did not do this, so he remained in jail for years.

Rahul had said that Gandhi, Nehru and Patel stayed in jail for many years and did not sign any letter. Savarkar ji signed on this paper, the reason was fear. If you are not afraid, never sign. When Savarkar signed, Gandhi, Patel of India was cheated. They also asked those people to sign Gandhi and Patel.

Supreme Court reprimanded on 26 April

The Supreme Court had reprimanded Rahul Gandhi on 26 April for objectionable remarks on Veer Savarkar. The court had said that we cannot allow anyone to speak against freedom fighters. They gave us freedom and what are we treating him. The Supreme Court had warned Rahul Gandhi that if you give such a statement from further, then we will take action by taking automatic cognizance. Do not give irresponsible statements about freedom fighters.

With this, the Supreme Court stayed the summons of the trial court against Rahul in the case of comment on Savarkar. The Allahabad High Court refused to stay summons on 4 April. After this, Rahul filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

Advocate filed a complaint against Rahul in 2023

On 14 June 2023, Advocate Nripendra Pandey, a resident of Lucknow, filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in the Additional CJM court. In his complaint, Pandey alleged that Rahul called Veer Savarkar a ‘servant’ and ‘pensioner’ in Akola. He claimed that the press conference was broadcast live on a news channel. Press notes prepared among the journalists involved in the press conference were also distributed. Pandey accused Rahul Gandhi of making this statement with the intention of spreading hatred and unrest in the society.
