There has been a war of words between India and Pakistan once again. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif recently gave a statement saying that “No one can snatch even a single drop of water from Pakistan”It is believed that his statement was about the Indus Water Treaty and the recent water dispute.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi gave a strong reply to this statement. Owaisi said, “BrahMos is with us… they should not do such nonsense. Such threats of Pakistan will not have any effect on India. It’s enough.”

Owaisi’s statement makes it clear that he does not take Pakistan’s alleged ‘Gidadbhaki’ seriously and express full confidence in India’s military capacity.

India alleges that Pakistan-based terrorist organizations are carrying out violent activities in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts, while Pakistan has been denying these allegations and revents India of human rights violations. The issue often arises on the United Nations and other global forums.

World Bank mediation between India and Pakistan in 1960 Indus Water Treaty Under the right to three rivers (Indus, Jhelum, Chenab), the rights to use water to Pakistan and the rights of three rivers (Beas, Ravi, Sutlej) were given to India.

In recent years, India has launched some hydroelectric projects on western rivers, which Pakistan has objected to and the case has been taken to the International Court of Court and the World Bank for mediation. India says that the projects are under the treaty, while Pakistan fears that this will affect its water flow.
