HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old man was successfully rescued after accidentally falling into a drain while collecting leaves for his goat in Yakutpura area on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Gouse, was gathering fodder for his goat when he slipped and fell into the nallah (drain) that runs from Yakutpura Station to Chowni. The strong water current in the drain threatened to sweep him away.
AIMIM Corporator Wasayuddin, along with a Hydra team and local residents, immediately responded to the emergency. Risking their own safety, the rescue team worked together to pull Gouse to safety.
A video of the dramatic rescue operation has gone viral on social media, showing rescuers lowering a ladder into the fast-flowing drain to reach the stranded man. The footage clearly demonstrates the dangerous water flow that could have proven fatal had the rescue been delayed.
