New Delhi. Due to the incessant rains in Delhi, a young man died after falling a tree in Kalkaji area of South Delhi. This sad incident occurred on Thursday morning when the youth riding on the bike was passing through that place. Suddenly a big neem tree fell on him. After this incident, a painful video has gone viral on social media, in which the young man is seen buried under the tree.

In this accident, Sudhir Kumar (50) and his daughter Priya (22) riding on the bike fell victims. Sudhir died in the accident, while Priya suffered serious injuries. The accident occurred in front of HDFC Bank near Paras Chowk, when an old neem tree parked on the roadside suddenly fell suddenly at around 9:50 am. At this time there was a lot of crowd on the road, and many people managed to escape fast. However, bike rider Sudhir Kumar (50) and her daughter Priya (22) were hit by the incident, while they were going somewhere riding on the bike.

Local residents and police immediately started relief and rescue operations. A JCB was called, through which both persons trapped under the tree were removed and sent to AIIMS Trauma Center. People present at the scene say that the father died in the accident, while the daughter is seriously injured. However, death has not been officially confirmed. It has also been reported that there was a car under the tree, but fortunately no one was present in it at that time.

AAP asked for PWD minister’s resignation

The political stir has intensified after the incident in Kalkaji. Leader of Opposition Atishi has demanded resignation from Delhi Public Works Department Minister Pravesh Verma. He wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in this regard, which mentioned that a young man died after falling a tree during the rains on Hansraj Sethi Marg, while a young woman is in critical condition. Atishi alleged that due to the failure of the BJP government, many people lost their lives in this rain. He urged the Chief Minister to dismiss PWD Minister Pravesh Verma from his cabinet with immediate effect.

On Thursday morning, there was heavy rains in Delhi and its surrounding areas, resulting in waterlogging in many parts of the capital and interrupted in traffic. This situation faced difficulties in the busy time in the morning. The Meteorological Department had already issued warnings of thundering clouds and lightning in various parts of Delhi as well as moderate to heavy rain. Traffic was affected due to rain on Ring Road, some areas of South Delhi and major roads connecting Central and East Delhi.
