Landslide Incident in Laxman Jhula Area
On Wednesday, a significant landslide occurred near the Laxman Jhula area along the Rishikesh-Neelkanth road, resulting in two individuals going missing and two others sustaining injuries, as reported by local officials.
According to Santosh Paithwal, the station chief of Laxman Jhula police station, the Ganges River is flowing just fifteen meters from the site of the landslide, raising concerns that the missing individuals may have fallen into the river due to the landslide.
Search efforts are currently underway in both the debris and the river to locate the missing persons.
The missing individuals have been identified as Mushir from Manglaur, Uttarakhand, and Ajit Pal from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Paithwal further explained that the injured parties were the driver and helper of a truck carrying bricks from Haridwar, who were changing a flat tire when they were caught in the landslide. Both have since received first aid and have been discharged.
