Lucknow Schools Closed: As torrential rains continue to batter several parts of Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital, Lucknow, authorities have ordered the closure of all schools today, August 14. The order applies to government as well as private schools from Classes 1 to 12.
District Magistrate Visakh G Iyer confirmed the decision, citing safety factors due to widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions. "All schools will be closed today in the wake of the heavy rain and worsening weather conditions," he stated.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted increased monsoon activity over the next few days with a low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal. Consequently, moderate to heavy showers are likely to persist over northern and central India.
