On Thursday, at least 52 people died after a cloudburst in Chishoti town of Kishtwar. Most of the dead are devotees, who came to see Machail Mata. Apart from this, two CISF personnel have also been martyred in the accident. More than 120 people are injured in this incident and about 200 people are said to be missing. Many people are still feared to be buried in the debris, which may increase the number of dead.

Accident took place in Dharali in Uttarakhand

Nine days before the devastation, there was a fierce accident in Dharli in Uttarakhand. Army, Air Force, SDRF, NDRF and police teams are constantly engaged in Kishtwar. So far 167 people have been evacuated, out of which 38 are in critical condition. Rescue operations are facing problems due to bad weather. According to Additional SP Pradeep Singh, all central force including Jammu and Kashmir Police, SDRF, Fire Department, CISF, CRPF and Army are engaged in relief and rescue operations.

45 people died

So far, 45 dead have been officially confirmed and more than 100 injured have been sent to the hospital. 8 to 10 dead have been identified, while the rest of the identity process continues. Local people are also actively participating in relief work with rescue teams.

"Mother buried under electric poles"

Painful stories of destruction of cloudburst and sudden floods in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir are coming out. A saved woman victim narrated her objections, saying, "When the cloud burst, there was a loud explosion and we jumped into the air. I got caught under a car, while my mother got buried under the electric pole." He said that the administration immediately took action immediately after the accident. Army and CRPF personnel reached the spot and started the work of saving the trapped people.
