A meteor has hit the Forgotten Land, bringing with it new graphical upgrades and stages for Kirby's most thrilling adventure yet.

The beloved pink puffball is set to make a triumphant return. Kirby and the Forgotten Land took Masuhiro Sakurai's creation into unexplored territory with a full 3D platforming adventure, and it was a resounding success, providing players with a delightful, super-sweet antidote to the harsh and grim atmospheres of modern gaming.

This adventure is hailed as one of Kirby's finest, and fortunately for fans, it's designed to offer even more on the second playthrough as it joins the ranks of Nintendo Switch 2 Editions to provide it with new visual enhancements and a whole new array of spectacular stages. The Star Crossed World segment of the game expands on many existing stages, as well as introducing a new story add-on that sees Kirby chasing down Starries to reverse the effects of a mysterious meteor.

The game promises to offer plenty more for both new and returning players to dive into, with new mouthful modes and locations set to integrate into the game quite seamlessly, along with some framerate and graphical upgrades along the way.

But when exactly can we expect this upgraded game to be released?

Here's everything you need to know about the release date for Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World release date

The release date for Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World has been confirmed for Thursday, August 28, at midnight local time, everywhere except in the United States. Nintendo had previously announced the date, but the exact time is an educated guess based on the company's preferred release schedule for its first-party titles, such as the Donkey Kong Bananza release date and Super Mario Party Jamboree.

This midnight release strategy means that gamers can wake up on the morning of Thursday, August 28 to play the new game, although the strict timing is relaxed across the United States. The US launch is set for 12pm on the East Coast, which translates to 9pm PDT / 11pm CDT on Wednesday, August 27 elsewhere in the country.

Fans are eagerly awaiting their return to the Forgotten Land, and the addition of the Star-Crossed Road only adds to the excitement. If you see us on our Switch 2 consoles, laughing and kicking our feet, you can bet it's all thanks to Kirby.
