Mahindra has unveiled four new SUV concepts, which were teased in the days leading up to today. Mahindra has unveiled Vision S, Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT. All four SUV concepts are underpinned by the company’s new nu_IQ platform, which can support ICE, hybrid, and allelectric powertrains.
Mahindra Vision S concept
The Mahindra Vision S concept is a boxy SUV, which will most likely join the Scorpio family, which consists of the Scorpio N and the Classic. The SUV features inverted Lshaped headlights and has a flat grille. The lower bumper seems to house a radar unit, hinting at ADAS features. The SUV gets roofmounted lights and Limb risers, which will not make it to the production model.
The Lshaped light theme continues towards the rear, and the SUV runs on 19inch wheels, gets allLED lighting, cameras instead of ORVMs, a ladder to access the roof, and even a jerry can mounted on the side. It will be interesting to see what the production unit will look like.
Mahindra Vision T
The Mahindra Vision T is the Thar.e, but still in its concept stage. Elements such as the grille with horizontal slats and the bonnet latches look similar to the Thar Roxx, while the headlight design is interesting, with a square finish. Inside, the SUV is expected to be loaded with tech, and one can expect multiple TFT displays and a host of smart features.
Mahindra has not revealed any technical details of the Vision T concept, and since the Thar already occupies the ICE space, this could be offered as an EV only. The Vision T concept is expected to share the same drivetrain as the BE 6 or the XEV 9e, and we can expect to see the production form in 2027.
Mahindra SXT concept
The SXT concept could be Mahindra’s future vision of a pickup, which the company needs. Mahindra is already testing a pickup based on the Scorpio, and this could be the company’s allelectric offering. The concept looks to be a lifestyle vehicle with knobby AT tyres, flared wheel arches, and a high ground clearance.
The SXT concept is designed to go offroad, and it will feature a 4X4 system when launched, as the platform allows it. This will be based on a monocoque platform, and Mahindra could position the vehicle in the Csegment SUV space.
Mahaindra Vision X concept
The final SUV that was showcased is the Vision X concept, which is likely to join the XUV family. The concept features a sporty design while maintaining a high ground clearance, squarish wheel arches, and more. The rear of the SUV is far more upright compared to the XEV.
Interior details show a large curved screen which houses the infotainment system and the instrument console. However, the production version may have some changes. The SUV also features a tw–spoke steering wheel and rectangular air vents.
