On Friday (August 15), Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 79th Independence Day, said that by the end of this year, the first indigenous semiconductor chip will be available in the market by the end of this year. He informed that at present work is going on on six semiconductor units and four new units have been approved.

The Prime Minister said that this achievement is not only a major step towards India’s technical self -sufficiency, but will also establish the country as a strong player in the global chip market. In his speech, PM Modi also recently mentioned the operation vermilion done by the army and said that the destruction made by our armed forces in Pakistan was so widespread that its new revelations are happening every day.

Targeting the Indus Water Treaty, the Prime Minister said that this treaty has caused huge damage to India’s agriculture. Referring to the attack in Pahalgam, he said that it highlights the futility of continuing the agreement. Modi bluntly said, “India has decided that blood and water cannot flow together.” He alleged that the rivers originating in India due to this treaty are irrigating the fields of our enemies, while the soil and farmers of our country are thirsty.

A day earlier, President Draupadi Murmu, while addressing the nation on the eve of the 79th Independence Day, appealed to the citizens to ‘become Indians and buy and use Indian products’, to further strengthen the spirit of indigenous movement. While this message of the Prime Minister raised expectations towards technical self -sufficiency, also made the government’s strict stance on the issues of water resources and national security.
