
Arrests Made in Hyderabad Jewelry Store Robbery
On August 12, authorities in Hyderabad apprehended two members of an interstate gang involved in a jewelry store robbery. The police announced the arrests on Saturday.
According to a police statement, the gang, linked to Bihar, had devised a plan to rob jewelry stores in Hyderabad using firearms.
The statement revealed that the gang rented a house in the city on July 31 with the assistance of their associate, Deepak Kumar Sah, who works as a welder in Hyderabad. They initially surveilled jewelry shops in the Chandanagar area before executing the robbery at Khazana Jewelers.
Based on intelligence, police arrested Ashish Kumar Singh, one of the gang members, in Maharashtra. His information led to the arrest of Deepak Kumar Sah, who provided accommodation, vehicles, and assisted in identifying the targeted stores.
The statement detailed that on August 12, six members of the gang entered the showroom wearing masks and shot at an assistant manager, injuring his left knee. They then stole approximately 10 kilograms of silver items, including silver jewelry coated with gold. The injured employee was hospitalized.
Authorities reported that they recovered 900 grams of silver items from the arrested suspects. The investigation revealed that a total of seven individuals were involved in the robbery, and efforts to locate the remaining suspects are ongoing. The gang members have multiple cases registered against them in Bihar and other states.
