School Closed: Life has been affected by continuous bad weather. After the Meteorological Department's warning, the administration has decided to keep all schools in this state closed today.

School Closed: The weather has taken a rage from Kathua to Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir and the situation is continuously deteriorating. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains on August 18 and 19. Keeping this in mind, the administration has issued an order to close all government and private schools in Jammu division today.

Heavy havoc due to cloudburst in Chishauti village

On August 14, a cloudburst in Chishouti village of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir caused heavy havoc. So far 61 devotees have died and 116 people have been injured in the sudden flood on the Machail Mata Mandir Marg. In this accident, 82 people are still reported missing, including 81 devotees and one CISF jawans. After this, on August 17, there were incidents of cloudburst and landslides in Jodh Valley and Jungleot areas of Kathua district. 7 people lost their lives in these accidents, while 5 people were injured.

Meteorological Alert

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains and thunderstorms from August 17 to 19. At the same time, there is a threat to cloudburst, sudden floods and landslides. They have a warning of heavy rains in Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and some areas of Kashmir.

Administration on alert

Continuous rains have increased the water level of rivers and drains and road connectivity in many villages has been cut. Administration, NDRF and disaster management teams are continuously working for relief and rescue operations. The search for missing people continues.
