Toyota has launched the Camry Sprint Edition in India, priced at Rs 48.50 lakh, exshowroom. The new Toyota Camry Sprint Edition gets some interesting accessories from the dealer level, while its price is the same as the Elegance version of the Camry.
Toyota Camry Sprint Edition: What are the upgrades?
The new Camry Sprint Edition is a sportier take on the sedan, and the first difference is the visual addons and colours. The Camry Sprint Edition comes in five colour options: Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl, Cement Grey, Precious Metal, and Dark Blue Metallic. All the colour options get a contrasting black finish for the bonnet, roof, and boot.
Moreover, the front and rear bumpers get sporty extensions, along with a spoiler on the rear boot lid. The 18inch alloy wheels also get a black finish, and all these are updates done at the dealer level.
Inside, the new Toyota Camry Sprint Edition gets ambient lighting and puddle lamps, an upgrade over the Elegance version done by the dealers. Other features have been carried over from the Elegance version, such as the 12.3inch infotainment system, the digital instrument cluster, poweradjustable seats, wireless charging, and more.
The vehicle also carries forward the safety features that consist of multiple airbags, cameras, and the ADAS suite. We tested the ADAS suite in real life, and we found it to be useful without overwhelming the driver.
Toyota Camry Sprint Edition: Engine specifications
Powering the Camry Sprint Edition is a 2.5litre Atkinson Cycle fourcylinder petrol engine mated to a hybrid system. The engine makes 187bhp on its own, and when combined with the hybrid motor, the total power output stands at 230bhp and 221Nm of torque. It is the same engine that powers the Elegance version, and there are no changes.
Toyota claims that the new Camry can accelerate from 0–100kmph in 7.2 seconds and returns a fuel efficiency of 25.4kmpl, which makes the Camry one of the best mileage cars sold in India. The Camry can also be driven in pure EV mode, but when one demands more power, the engine comes on and takes over.
