HarleyDavidson has brought back the Street Bob to India, priced at Rs 18.77 lakh, exshowroom. The motorcycle was earlier sold with the older 1,754cc Milwaukee Eight engine and now gets the larger 1,923cc Vtwin like the rest of the Harley cruisers.

HarleyDavidson Street Bob: What are the updates?

The overall design of the Street Bob has not changed when compared to the older model, as it retains its long, lowslung cruiser design. The new HarleyDavidson Street Bob is also one of the lighter motorcycles on sale by the company in India, and it retains its slim profile with the ape hanger bars.

However, the differences that set the new Street Bob apart from the older one are the new colour options and the new chrome twointoone exhaust. The older Street Bob has the same exhaust setup, but finished in black. Speaking of colour options, the new Street Bob is available in Billiard Grey, Vivid Black, Centerline (Yellow), Iron Horse Metallic, and Purple Abyss Denim.

The motorcycle gets a 13.2litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 293kg when fully fueled. That said, the new Street Bob’s saddle height stands at 680mm, and its ground clearance stands at 125mm, something one needs to watch out for in Indian road conditions.

New HarleyDavidson Street Bob: Features and engine specifications

At the pricing, the HarleyDavidson Street Bob is the most affordable softail model on sale in India. The next softail model costs Rs 20 lakh and over. The motorcycle is suspended by telescopic front forks, a monoshock at the rear hidden under the seat, and runs on a 1916 wheel set up. Harley will also sell you a set of wirespoke wheels for Rs 87,000.

The motorcycle gets a decent set of electronic aids as well, such as disc brakes at both ends with dualchannel ABS, 3 ride modes (Sport, Road and Rain), drag torque slip control, traction control, and cruise control. All these aids are monitored by an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), meaning they have cornering functionality.

Finally, coming to the engine. The new HarleyDavidson Street Bob is powered by a 1,923cc Vtwin air and liquidcooled motor. The engine, despite its size, makes a humble 90bhp but a massive 156Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a sixspeed gearbox.
