The way to make it is also very easy and it can be made even more healthy by mixing it with vegetables. So let’s know the easy method of children’s favorite breakfast ‘Munglet’. To make the munlett, first you need to make a washed yellow moong dal. Wash the lentils thoroughly and soak it in water for about three to four hours. When the lentils are well soaked, remove all its water and put it in the mixer jar. Make a thick paste by mixing a little ginger, green chillies (less or if you want for children) and a little water with lentils. Keep in mind that the paste is not very thin. Now take out the paste of this lentil in a big bowl. Add finely chopped vegetables to it such as onions, tomatoes, capsicum, grated carrots and finely chopped coriander leaves. If you want, you can also add any other vegetables of children like cabbage or corn. Add salt and a pinch of turmeric as per taste. Mix all the ingredients well so that a thick batter is formed. Heat a non-stick griddle and apply light oil or butter on it. Put two to three teaspoons of solution on the pan and spread it in round shape with light hands, as you make pancake. Do not spread it too thin. On medium flame, roast the moonglet till it turns golden brown from both sides. You can put a little oil or butter from the edge so that it becomes crispy. When the moonglet is well roasted and crispy, remove it from the pan. Serve hot moonglet with tomato sauce or any chutney of your choice. You can also give it with curd. It is also a great option for children’s lunchbox. Being delicious, nutritious and easy to make it, both parents and children will like it.
