India won’t play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025: Former player

Former cricketer Kedar Jadhav has urged the Indian National Team to boycott their matches against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, set to start on September 9 in the UAE. He is confident the group stage match between the two countries on September 14 will not take place.

Earlier, Harbhajan Singh had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to boycott fixtures against the Men in Green. Despite tensions, the Men in Blue have decided to compete in the Asia Cup.

“India shouldn’t play against Pakistan, and I am confident India won’t play. India will defeat Pakistan anyway. But this match shouldn’t go ahead. I am sure it won’t take place,” Jadhav told ANI.

India had boycotted matches against Pakistan during the World Championship of Legends. However, Sourav Ganguly wants to see the game taking place.

“The match should go ahead if the government gives permission. The terrorism must stop, but the match should be played if the government allows it,” Ganguly said.

India and Pakistan have not played bilateral matches since 2012-13, but the two sides continued to face each other in the ICC and the ACC tournaments.
