Liverpool stars rally around Ryan Gravenberch as team-mate and partner issue family update

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch and his partner, Cindy Peroti, have shared a touching family announcement, revealing the birth of their first child.

The 23 year old hasn't appeared in competitive action for Arne Slot's squad in 2025/26 despite playing a crucial part in securing the Premier League crown last season. Gravenberch was perhaps the standout performer of the previous campaign as he thrived in a holding midfield position, featuring in 37 of 38 Premier League fixtures during Slot's debut term at Anfield.

Nevertheless, the Netherlands international was missing from the Liverpool team that suffered defeat to Crystal Palace in the Community Shield as his partner, Cindy Peroti, had delivered their first baby the evening before the match at Wembley. He subsequently completed a ban that rolled over from last season for Friday's Premier League curtain-raiser against Bournemouth.

This enabled Gravenberch to dedicate additional time to his expanding family - and now he and Peroti have posted their inaugural social media message since bringing their child into the world.

"Our little miracle has arrived [white heart emoji]," the pair wrote alongside a joint Instagram post on Monday evening.

The touching announcement has garnered considerable interest from Liverpool colleagues, their partners and fellow members of the football world. Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley and Dominik Szoboszlai all expressed their delight with heart-eyed emojis under the post.

The Hungarian star, who became a father for the first time with wife Borka Buszik earlier this summer, knows all too well the joy of such a family milestone.

Curtis Jones, another new dad in the Liverpool squad since last October, also showed his love with a heart emoji on Gravenberch's post. His fiancee Saffie Khan chimed in with: "Perfect [pink heart emoji]."

Cody Gakpo gave the post a thumbs up, while his partner Noa van der Bij shared her affection with a pink heart emoji.

Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Stefan Bajcetic, Jeremie Frimpong, Andy Robertson, Vitezslav Jaros, Milos Kerkez, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Ibrahima Konate and James McConnell also liked the post, showing their support for the midfielder and his partner.

Former Liverpool players Ryan Babel and Gini Wijnaldum, along with Dutch internationals Jorrel Hato, Noa Lang and Justin Kluivert, also interacted with the family update from Gravenberch.

Gravenberch will have to wait another week before he can get back into action for the new season, but having served his one-game ban, he's set to return to the Liverpool squad for the upcoming trip to Newcastle United.
