Honda Activa e: Honda has completed six months of production and sales of two of its e-scooters Activa E and QC1 after entering India’s electric two-wheeler market. Between February and July 2025, the company built a total of 11,168 units, out of which 5,173 units were sold. Their delivery was started from March 2025.
Activa E: Surrounded by stylish but challenges
Activa E is Honda’s swapable battery electric scooter. It is designed keeping in mind personal commuting. It is available in two variants:
- Standard version: ₹ 1,17,428 (ex-showroom)
- Roadsync duo version: ₹ 1,52,028 (ex-showroom)
The company claims that this scooter offers a range of 102 km and top speed of 80 km/h. It takes 7.3 seconds to catch a speed of 0 to 60 km/h.
However, its biggest drawback is that the battery cannot be charged at home, but only the battery can be changed at swapping stations. Currently more than 80 swapping stations are present only in Bengaluru, while the network has now started expanding in Delhi and Mumbai. This is why its sale is still slow.
QC1: Affordable and Practical Options
- On the other hand, Honda QC1 comes with a fixed battery and is especially designed for the use of gig-workers and affordable cities. Its price starts at ₹ 90,022 (ex-showroom), making it the cheapest Japanese electric scooter in India.
- The company claims that the QC1 gives a range of 80 km on the charge once. Talking about the performance, it catches the speed of 0 to 40 km/h in 9.4 seconds and its top speed is 50 km/h.
- The biggest advantage of QC1 is that it can be charged at home, which is why its popularity among customers is continuously increasing. Currently, this scooter is available in big cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Chandigarh.
sales figures
Between February and July 2025, Honda sold a total of 4,950 units. Of these, 4,252 units were QC1 and only 698 units Activa E. That is, QC1 stake in total sales was 86%.
Note
The Honda figure makes it clear that customers in the Indian market are currently giving more priority to economical and easily charged electric scooters. The success of Activa E will now depend on how fast the company expands its battery swapping network.
