Earlier this year, Asianet News published a speculative piece about Mammootty suffering from cancer, a claim that the actor’s PR team refuted. However, the speculation persisted within and beyond the film industry, and it reached a fever pitch when Mohanlal visited the Sabarimala Temple, prayed for Mammootty and offered a special pooja for the latter. Mohanlal’s act even sparked a ridiculous controversy as a minor section of the population criticised the actor, a Hindu, praying for Mammootty, who belongs to the Muslim community.
Nevertheless, a healthy-again Mammootty’s comeback has put an end to all the speculation. The film industry and fans will not have to wait too long to watch the actor back in action again, with his next film with co-star Vinayakan and first-time director Jithin K Jose set to release theatrically soon.
