Hero MotoCorp has finally launched the Glamour X, the most featurepacked 125cc motorcycle in the country. To sit on top of the Glamour Xtec range, the new Hero Glamour X will be offered in two variants: Drum and Disc priced at Rs 89,999 and Rs 99,999 (both exshowroom).
Hero Glamour X: Updated Design
Although the Glamour X is visually almost identical to the present Glamour range, there are some subtle yet obvious differences that make the former a bit more distinct. For instance, the new Glamour X feels a bit more muscular thanks to the extended tank shrouds bearing the bike’s new moniker. This iteration of the Glamour gets a lot of cuts and creases over the regular Glamour and Xtec version, making it more aggressive.
Another interesting addition is a taller visor up front. The Hshaped LED element on the headlamp and taillamp have been carried over from the multiple recent launches by Hero. It is available in a total of five colour options. The Drum variant is offered in Matt Magnetic Silver and Candy Blazing Red shades, while the Disc variant is available in Metallic Nexus Blue, Black Teal Blue, and Black Pearl Red paint schemes.
Hero Glamour X: New Features
The Glamour X comes with a lot more bells and whistles over the other models in this range, the standout being cruise control. Available in the topspec Disc trim, this makes Hero Glamour X the most affordable motorcycle in India to come with a cruise control feature, undercutting the likes of TVS Apache RR 310 and KTM 390 Duke.
Besides cruise control, the Glamour X also gets a new LCD digital instrument cluster that offers Bluetooth connectivity, TurnbyTurn Navigation, DistancetoEmpty, Gear Position indicator, and an ambient light sensor. Further, it also gets a new switchgear which now gets hazard switch functionality along with the cruise control button on the right handside.
In terms of safety, it comes with a firstinsegment panic brake alert that flashes the indicators under sudden braking. Other notable features on offer include a type C USB charging port, and an underseat enclosed utility box, offering secure storage for two mobile phones.
Hero Glamour X: More efficient powertrain
The Glamour X gets the same 124.7cc singlecylinder aircooled engine as seen in other Glamour models but now pushes out 11.4 bhp and 10.6 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a 5speed gearbox. The cam profile of this engine has been retuned to deliver a slighter better output. Further the gear ratios have been optimised for a quicker throttle response.
Another new innovation from Hero is the AERA Tech (Advanced Electronic Ride Assist) platform that comprises a lowbattery kickstart capability, powered by a smart solenoid valve, a first for any 125cc motorcycle in the world. This new electronic control system offers features such as RidebyWire (Electronic Throttle Body), and three distinct Ride Modes: Eco, Road, Power
