Good Morning Britain star Narinda Kaur has sparked a fierce row after declaring that the next James Bond must be a woman. Narinda took to X to share her thoughts on the hotly debated topic, telling her followers she thinks the next Secret Service agent to replace Daniel Craig should be "gender fluid". She penned: "I think the next James Bond should definitely be female. James Bond is not a sex, they are a character and one that is gender fluid. And I also think they should make me the next James Bond."
Her comments caused uproar amongst fans. Many hit back in the comments, with one writing: "Isn't the name James a clue that the character of Bond was written as a man?" Another fumed: "Gender fluid! Typical woke word salad and nonsense!" But Narinda isn't the only famous face weighing in on the future of 007. Former Bond himself, Pierce Brosnan, has also shifted positions on whether the iconic spy could be played by a woman.

Back in 2019, Pierce told The Hollywood Reporter that it was time to "put a woman up there," adding: "It would be exhilarating."
Since then, though, he has changed his tune. The Irishman, who fronted four Bond films, revealed that he now wants to see a man revive the role after Daniel Craig stepped down.
"Oh, I think it has to be a man," the 72-year-old said. "I'm so excited to see the next man come on the stage and to see a whole new exuberance and life for this character."
Pierce, who starred in GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002), admitted he still adores the franchise: "I adore the world of James Bond.
"It's been very good to me. It's the gift that keeps giving. I'm just a member of the audience now, sitting back, saying: 'Show us what you're going to do.'"

The actor's view has been backed by his new co-star Dame Helen Mirren, who appears alongside him in the forthcoming adaptation of Richard Osman's bestseller The Thursday Murder Club.
"So many women have worked in that world," she said. "She's a manifestation of a reality, that's for sure. Is she a better portrayal of it than in the world of 007? More realistic. But not so much fun as Bond!"
Pierce, who has accused the franchise of sexism in the past, explained his reasoning: "I'm such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can't have a woman. It just doesn't work. James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else."
Speculation is continuing to swirl around who will take up the tuxedo next.
The Amazon-MGM takeover of the series has brought in Dune director Denis Villeneuve. Bullet Train actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been tipped for the role, and Masters of the Air star Callum Turner has emerged as a new favourite.
