KTM has resumed production at its Austrian plant, and the company seems to have gone right back to work as two 790 models were seen testing. The next generation 790 Duke and 790 Adventure were spotted testing in plain sight, albeit too plain, since they did not even have their body panels.

The two motorcycles will see heavy revisions made to their engine and design, while some running components also seem to have changed. So here’s what the photos reveal about the upcoming KTM 790 Duke and Adventure.

New KTM 790 Duke spied

Let’s start with the 790 Duke. The street naked and the entrylevel twin from KTM seem to have major updates to their design. The headlight, for example, seems to follow the same design language as the larger Dukes, like the 990. The new headlight design was a much spoken about topic when it debuted some time back, but now it seems to be the norm.

Other changes include a new exhaust design, which is side mounted rather than tucked under the seat. The motorcycle will retain the suspension setup and the frame, but KTM has opted to go for a single disc in the front instead of twin units. The rotor looks large, while the calliper is radially mounted.

Upcoming KTM 790 Adventure spied

The next generation 790 Adventure gets more updates, as the motorcycle now features a fully redesigned front end, and sports a similar setup to the 390 Adventure with vertically stacked headlights flanked by the DRL.

The exhaust has been redesigned as well, similar to the upcoming 790 Duke. That said, running components will consist of the same frame as before, including the suspension setup, while the front brake is a singlerotor instead of twin discs. The electronics on the motorcycle could also see tweaks.

The 799cc parallel twin engine has also been heavily tweaked for the next generation, and as per reports, the oil pans and valve covers have seen major revisions to tackle quality issues that have plagued the motorcycle in the past. Power figures are under wraps, but expect them to be ‘sufficient’.
