Investigation Handed Over to CBI
The Haryana government has decided to hand over the investigation into the death of a 19-year-old teacher in Bhiwani to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following widespread public anger.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Wednesday, “The state government and police are diligently working to ensure justice for our daughter Manisha and her family.”
He mentioned that he is continuously monitoring the situation. In a post on ‘X’, Saini added, “Based on the family's request, the Haryana government will transfer this case to the CBI for an impartial investigation. Full justice will be served in this matter.”
Earlier, in response to the public outcry over the teacher's death, the Haryana government ordered a suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS, and dongle services in Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri districts for 48 hours, starting from 11 AM on Tuesday.
Manisha's body was discovered in a field in Bhiwani on August 13. She had gone missing after leaving school on August 11, reportedly to inquire about admission to a nursing college.
