Singapore’s largest supermarket chain, FairPrice, has alerted customers to a fraudulent WhatsApp survey promising SGD4,000 (US$3,100) in rewards.
The scam questionnaire is neither connected to nor endorsed by the company, it said in a recent Facebook post.

FairPrice advised anyone receiving the questionnaire to refrain from clicking the link or providing personal information.
The deceptive message lures users with a promise of a cash reward for completing the questionnaire.
FairPrice emphasized that all legitimate promotions and product offers are exclusively available through the FairPrice Group app or its official website.
“We will never send SMS, WhatsApp or other messages asking for your username, password or financial information,” the company said.

FairPrice, having established for more than 50 years, is the largest supermarket chain in Singapore with more than 100 stores in the country, according to its website.
WhatsApp scams are popular in Singapore. Last year, the country recorded 1,504 cases of government official impersonation scams, with victims losing at least SGD151.3 million.
Most victims were aged 50 to 64, and scammers primarily contacted them via phone and WhatsApp.
