Tata will do business through 40 dealerships

According to an official statement, the company will work through 40 dealerships, which are planned to extend by 2026 to 60. Tata’s passenger car division has appointed Motus Holdings in South Africa as its exclusive distributor. Tata Motors in South African markets is currently expected to be competed with Chinese brands dominated. The growing demand for budget-friendly cars is motivating global vehicle manufacturers to provide more options to customers and also motivating abroad to depend on low-cost imports from India and China.

In South Africa, Tata Motors is facing competition from Chinese vehicle manufacturers such as Cherry Group, BYD, Beijing Automotive and GWM, who have introduced vehicles at competitive prices with various powertrains in recent years.

Indian Carmaker South Africa’s passenger vehicle left the market after selling brands such as Indica Hatcback in 2019. Indica hatchback was economical, but received mixed reaction from consumers. However, the company retained its commercial vehicle operations in South Africa.
