Government’s big step on online gaming apps, all games related to money will be banned

Online gaming ban: The growing trend of online gaming has affected the lives of many families across the country. In the coming days, there are reports where a child committed suicide due to gaming addiction or many people drowned in heavy debt. In view of this concern, the government is now going to ban online gaming apps to all money.

Online gaming bill will be introduced in Parliament

According to sources, an online gaming bill has been prepared by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, which can be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. This bill has also been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Tuesday. The bill clearly states that every game to betting, bet or gambling will be placed in the category of crime.

Strict punishment and heavy fine

According to the provisions of the bill, imprisonment can be imposed and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore can be imposed on any online gaming platform. Only those gaming apps will be able to save any fee or money to play.

Action on 1,400 apps so far

The government has been trying to tighten the betting apps for the last few years. In the last four-five years, more than 1,400 apps have been banned so far. However, due to no concrete law till now, strict action was not being taken on it.

$ 3.8 billion business at stake

Currently, online gaming business in India is around $ 3.8 billion, out of which about $ 3 billion is of those games which are associated with money transactions. After the bill is passed, all such apps will be closed.

Ban on banks and payment gateways also

Under the new law, no bank or payment gateway will be allowed to do transactions for online gaming. Many gaming apps such as Dream 11, which do not have straight betting but are charged before playing, can also fall on the ban.

Strict stance of government

After the approval of the cabinet, this bill is now going to be introduced in the Lok Sabha. It is believed that as soon as it is implemented, there will be a big change in the online gaming industry. The government believes that this step will play an important role in protecting youth and children from financial loss and mental stress.
