Iran missile drill 2025 after war with Israel and US: Only two months after a brutal and intense war with Israel and the United States, Iran is again flexing its military muscle, this time with a massive missile exercise in the northern Indian Ocean and Sea of Oman, as per a report.

Iran To Showcase Missile, Drone, and Electronic Warfare Capabilities

Iran's two-day exercise, scheduled to start on Thursday, will include missile launches and drone and electronic warfare operations, with the aim of highlighting Tehran's determination to demonstrate readiness for any new phase of confrontation, according to a Newsweek report.

After June's 12-day war with Israel and the United States, Iran's navy is now expected to stage the exercise with surface and subsurface vessels, aerial units, coastal and sea-based missile platforms, and electronic warfare divisions, as reported by Newsweek.

The spokesperson for the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Abbas Hassani, said that "A wide range of precision-strike cruise missiles with short, medium and long ranges will be employed to hit and destroy surface targets," as quoted in the report. Hassani also added that the drill is designed to sharpen combat readiness, improve command systems and strengthen deterrence, as reported by Newsweek.

Iran To Launch Major Missile Drill After War With US and Israel

The two-day drill, concluding on Friday, comes after Israel and Iran only recently paused a direct conflict that caused significant casualties and destruction on both sides, according to the report. Even the US, which had intervened with its own airstrikes on Iran, has since tried to put pressure on the country while pledging support for Israel, as per the Newsweek report.

The conflict had started on June 13 as Iran launched missile and drone attacks on sites in Israel, while Israel conducted airstrikes on Iranian military installations and infrastructure, which then led the US to enter the conflict on June 22, hitting nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan, according to the Newsweek report. Then Iran responded by attacking the US' Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, following which, US president Donald Trump declared a ceasefire on June 24, as per the report.
