Building Collapse in Daryaganj
On Wednesday, a multi-storey building near Sadbhavna Park in Daryaganj, Central Delhi, collapsed, resulting in the deaths of three workers. The victims, identified as Zubair, Gulsagar, and Taufiq, were present at the construction site when the structure unexpectedly gave way.
Trapped beneath the rubble, the workers were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Reports indicate that the police were alerted around 12:14 PM, prompting a swift response from law enforcement and fire services to the scene. The injured individuals were transported to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, and the District Disaster Management Authority was notified.
The sudden nature of the collapse left the workers with little time to escape. To aid in the rescue efforts, personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) joined the operation.
Initial reports suggest that construction activities were ongoing at the site, but the precise cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
