Marseille are in the market for a left-back and the Ligue 1 side has identified two Premier League players to fill the void left by Quentin Merlin. Market football reported earlier this Wednesday that Marseille were interested in Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas (29). The Greek international is expected to leave Arne Slot’s Premier League champions on the back of their signing of Milos Kerkez. Liverpool are keen to part ways with Tsimikas and the latter is open to a new challenge.
Now, the outlet adds that West Ham’s Emerson Palmieri (31) is also monitored by Marseille. The Italy international is no stranger to Ligue 1 football. He has been sent out on loan by Chelsea to Lyon for the 2021-2022 Ligue 1 campaign. Marseille executives are currently deliberating internally to determine which one of Tsimikas or Emerson Palmieri would be the prime candidate to bolster Roberto De Zerbi’s options.
