There was all -round purchase in the market. At the end of trading, the Sensex rose by 213.45 points or 0.26 percent to 81,857.84 and the Nifty rose by 69.90 points or 0.28 percent to 25,050.55. The market boom was led by IT shares.
The Nifty IT index closed up 2.69 percent. Also, the FMCG and Realty Index saw a percentage of one percent, while metal, energy, infanfa and commodity index closed in green mark. On the other hand, PSU bank, pharma, media and private banks were in red mark.
Fierce shopping in smallcap index
Midcap and smallcap index along with largecap also saw purchases. The Nifty Midcap 100 index rose by 265.85 points or 0.48 per cent to 57,930.50 and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index at 54.10 points or 0.30 per cent to 17,968.40. The Sensex packs had Infosys, TCS, HUL, NTPC, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Eatran (Zomato), HCL Tech, Bharti Airtel, M&M, Titan and Sun Performs top gainers. BEL, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Trent, ITC, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance and Kotak Mahindra were the top losis.
