
Dal makhani recipe: If you want to feel the real taste of Punjabi dhabas at home, then dhaba style dal makhni is the perfect option for you. This rich and creamy dish made of whole urad dal and Rajma will add to the special occasion or dinner party. The flavor of butter and cream dissolves so that the eaters will keep licking the fingers.
Ingredients (ingredients)
- Whole urad dal (black dal) – 1 cup
- Rajma – 4 cups
- Salt – In taste
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tablespoon
- Green chilly – 2 (finely chopped)
- Tomato – 3 (Make a puree)
- Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
- chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Garam Masala – ½ tsp
- butter – 3 tablespoons
- Cream – 3–4 tablespoons
- Oil – 1 tablespoon
- Fenugreek seeds – 1 teaspoon (roasted and crushed)
- Green coriander – For garnish
Method of preparation (step -by -set)
step 1: First of all wash urad dal and Rajma and soak it for 7–8 hours or overnight.
Step 2: Add lentils, rajma, 4 cups of water and a little salt to the pressure cooker and cook till 5–6 whistles. Mash a little mash.
Step 3: Heat oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan. Add onion and fry until golden brown.
Step 4: Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili and cook for one minute. Then add tomato turmeric, turmeric, red chili powder and coriander powder and fry till the spice becomes thick.
Step 5: Now add ripe dal and rajma. Add 1–2 cup of water and let it cook on low flame for 20–25 minutes.
Step 6: Add garam masala, kasoori fenugreek and remaining butter to it.
Step 7: Finally add cream and cook for 2–3 more minutes.
Note: Your rich and creamy dhaba-style dal makhani is ready. Garnish it with green coriander and serve with butter naan roti or cumin rice.
