According to Khandwa SP Manoj Kumar Rai, the victim couple has a utensil shop in Pandhana. They do not have children and both live alone at home. On July 18, someone threatened to call him from the Colomba police station in Mumbai and asked him to arrest anyone on telling anything.

The victim couple said, the thugs became a police and made a video call from the Colaba police station in Mumbai on the phone on 18 July. The video call appeared in the entire police station and police uniform staff. He said that your number has transacted the money in a fake way. Also, this number has been used in kidnapping, fraud and murder of a person. Therefore, you have to cooperate in the investigation.
