Power Star Pawan Kalyan's cult classic 'Thammudu' is making its way back to theatres. The sports drama, which has achieved a legendary status over the years, is speculated to be re-released as a special treat to the actor's fans ahead of his birthday.

As per a report by 123 Telugu, originally, the film was slated for a September 2, 2025, re-release. However, in a delightful update for fans, 'Thammudu' will now hit the big screens a little earlier, on August 30, 2025, two days before the actor's birthday. This gesture is being seen as both a celebration of Pawan Kalyan's enduring stardom and a nostalgic trip for audiences who have cherished the film for over two decades.

The film 'Thammudu' directed by P. A. Arun Prasad was first released in 1999 and was a huge hit. In the movie, Pawan Kalyan played a free-spirited youth, but later transformed into a kickboxer, which was arguably one of his best roles. In 'Thammudu', Pawan Kalyan starred with Preeti Jhangiani, Aditi Govitrikar, and Achyuth. The movie is a successful combination of action, sports, and a healthy amount of emotional content and remains one of Pawan Kalyan's best films to this day.

'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' releases on OTT

Meanwhile, speaking of Pawan Kalyan's recent outing, the period action drama 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' has shifted to OTT platforms after a relatively short theatrical run. Directed by Krish and Jyothi Krisna, the film also starred Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal. Despite high expectations, it received a mixed response from audiences and critics.

Looking ahead, Pawan Kalyan has two big-ticket projects in the pipeline 'They Call Him OG', directed by 'Saaho' fame Sujeeth. The action drama is slated to release on September 25, and also stars Bollywood's Emraan Hashmi as the main antagonist.

He is also working on the Harish Shankar directorial cop drama film 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' co-starring Sreeleela.
