Online Gaming Bill 2025 News in Hindi: India’s top real-man gaming (RMG) companies, including Dream 11’s original company Dream Sports, Gamescraft, Mobile Premier League (MPL) and Zupi, have allegedly began to suspend competitions and paid games on their platforms after Parliament passed the online gaming promotion and regulation bill, 2025.

This bill passed by both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha this week is aimed at banning all types of online money games, which are called sports where users collect money directly or indirectly in the hope of winning. Also, the purpose of this bill is to promote e-sports and online social gaming.

Dream 11 banned ‘Pay to Play’ competitions

Dream 11 said in a statement released on its website on Friday that after the passage of the bill, “cash sports and competitions have been closed”, but urged fans to “stay with us”.

Meanwhile, Dream Sports has stopped all ‘Pay to Play’ competitions on the new fantasy sports app Dream Pix launched earlier this year, as well as Dream Play, its accidental RMG offering, Bussiness.

A notice on the app states, “Given the recent developments to online gaming promotion and regulation bill, 2025”, we are stopping all ‘pay to play’ fantasy sports competitions on our platforms. Your account balance is safe and you can withdraw money from Dream 11 app. “

The report quoted industry sources as saying that after the President’s approval, the company is preparing to suspend the payment competitions on its major Dream 11 app after the law was notified.

The Dream 11 app on Thursday showed that it costs only ₹ 29 (33 cents) to form a team and join the “Award Pool”, which is later divided between thousands of winners with a top payment of ₹ 300,000 ($ 3,438).

Pitbook data shows that Dream 11 is evaluated by $ 8 billion, while one of the largest players in the region is $ 2.3 billion.

Sponsors of Indian cricket team

This move of the government has also made the fate of the leading sponsor of India’s national cricket team. Dream 11 was nominated for three years in July 2023, the major sponsor of India, whose logo will be printed on the Jersey of Team India.

No announcement has been made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding that major sponsor.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said on Friday, “If it is not allowed, we will not do anything. The BCCI will follow every policy of the country created by the Central Government.”

MPL suspended all money games

The MPL said that it has suspended all RMG offers. The company spokesperson said, “Although the new deposit will no longer be accepted, the customers will be able to withdraw their balance easily.”

“Our focus has always been on becoming the world’s largest competitive gaming platform, whether its business model is anything, and we are committed to providing our customers competitive, free, moneyless gaming experiences in India. As soon as we will complete the process of shutting down the online money games, we will continue to inform our community about the next steps,” the spokesman said further.

The MPL, which offers more than 60 games on his apps, said he “continues to believe in India’s development saga” and confirmed his long -term commitment to the country.

Gamescraft, Zupi also did the same

Bangalore -based Gamescraft has said that it is stopping ‘Ed Cash’ and ‘Gameplay Services’ on its Rumi apps including Rumiculture. The company said, “Withdrawal services will be available as per the policies of the platform. We want to assure us the wealth of users. This is a precautionary measure to ensure complete compliance of the changing legal structure.”

Zupi has also stopped its paid games, but said that free games like Ludo Supreme, Ludo Turbo, Snex and Laders and Trump Card Mania will be available.

A spokesman for the company said, “Zupi is completely operational and our players can continue enjoying their favorite games on this platform. According to the new online gaming bill 2025, we are turning off the paid games.”

Possibility of legal challenge

According to Reuters, Indian gaming groups are discussing with lawyers about knocking the Supreme Court to challenge the ban to challenge the ban by citing skills-based and exemption of some restricted sports like poker, and to give them discounts.

The bill, presented by Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, also ban the advertisement of money games and direct banks and financial institutions to stop paying for such platforms. Offering restricted money games can lead to jail and fine of up to three years.
