After a hiatus of 12 years, Dipti Dhyani Thapar is set to make her television comeback with Paro Sang Dev . The actress will begin shooting for the show tomorrow on a set built in Naigaon. Produced by Bhairavi Raichura and Nandita Mehra, the show explores the emotional complexities of family ties and relationships.

While Dipti remained unavailable for comment, a source associated with the show shared, “Dipti will be seen in a pivotal role as the hero’s mother. The character is strong, affectionate, and deeply devoted to her son. However, the story takes a turn when he marries a girl of his own choice instead of the one she had picked from an affluent family, which she disapproves of. This leads to an emotional tug-of-war, as the mother’s protectiveness clashes with her son’s choices. Though Dipti has a gentle and motherly appearance, the role demands a mix of vulnerability and strength, making it quite layered. The makers were looking for someone who could bring warmth and authority to the screen, and Dipti seemed the perfect fit for this character-driven drama.”

Dipti, who has been part of shows like Mata Ki Chowki, Chandragupta Maurya , Kairi - Rishta Khatta Meetha , and Chajje Chajje Ka Pyar, was last seen in Chhanchhan , which wrapped up in September 2013. Soon after, she consciously stepped away from acting to dedicate herself to raising her sons, Vishvm and Naivedya. For over a decade, she focused on their upbringing, prioritising school runs, daily routines, and being fully present in their formative years before deciding to return to work. Dipti is married to actor Sooraj Thapar; the couple tied the knot in April 2012.
